Shannon Pedersen

Quality Assurance Coordinator


Shannon attended Highline Community College and Western Washington University where she graduated with degrees in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.

In 15 years of medical laboratory experience, Shannon has worked in all departments and covered all shifts in both human and veterinary clinical laboratories. This extensive laboratory knowledge and her initiative led to a management role at Phoenix Central Laboratory. She is a current member of the Veterinary Laboratory Association (VLA) and the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ASVCP). In the ASVCP, she is a member of the Quality Assurance and Standards Committee.

In her position as Quality Control/Quality Assurance Coordinator she monitors instrument controls and calibrators to assure accuracy. She also researches internal and external recheck requests, as well as resolving situations that require correction. If needed she implements new protocols and procedures to assure an error will not recur. She also administers blind external quality control studies and reviews their results. In her position as Training Coordinator, she is responsible for all procedure and protocol manuals as well as scheduling and training of clinical laboratory employees.

Shannon and her husband enjoy traveling, golfing, wine tasting and gourmet cooking.
